Yeti

Yeti set sail from Brickyard cove with Ron and Adam onboard on August 30th at about 11:00. We sailed through the Jazz Cup fleet and out the Golden Gate. Winds were moderate heading out the gate and went to exceptionally light. We set a course that put us on a close reach heading towards the Farallon Islands. The winds built through the night hours and eventually we were sailing with a reefed main and a #4 in a moonless night. The winds shifted more west and we continued on the same wind angle with a heading south of the Farallons. We continued out till the early morning when we reached a point of approximately 75 miles from Brickyard Cove at which point we gybed back towards the Golden Gate. We kept up white sails to about the lightship and then hoisted the A5. The winds began to die quite a bit and we battled a ebb tide on the way in. We kept the A5 up and sailed under the Golden Gate, through Racoon Straits. The winds died off as we approached Point Richmond, but we continued to sail/drift back. As we approached the breakwater the wind shifted and built slightly to carry us back to the dock. Total miles according to the GPS track was 150.2 miles under the keel. However, the GPS batteries died at one point and a section of the track was not included in the track. We hit the docks by 1500 on September 1.
