About Me

I am an active skier, mountain biker, sailor and have recently retired early at the age of 62. I have the time to help prepare the boat and am a great cook, especially at creating pre-prepared meals for easy use under sail. Knock on wood, but I have never been seasick so can handle cooking or working on things underway below decks. I have raced in SF bay and chartered abroad extensively and would like you to see my sailing resume. I am easy going and my resume provides contact phone numbers of sailors who have experience onboard with me.

During my many racing years, I have worked most positions on 35+ foot sailboats and so am very capable of most all sailing duties including all spinnaker work. I took the Safety at Sea Course back in 2014. My navigation skills are capable of reading charts and chart-plotters but don't want to give the idea that I am any sort of navigation planning guru. I loved my 1990 PacCup Race, increased by sailing knowledge/comfort immeasurably and would like to experience such an adventure again with a good crew of like-minded, fun individuals.

I look forward to talking with you about this life-experience of racing to Hawaii!

Cheers, Jim
